The Southern Keys, commonly called The Florida Keys, are a string of islands linked by bridges and the Causeway that stretches for 110 miles from  Key Largo to Key West.

It is a 7-8 hour drive from Orlando to Key Largo and another 2 hours to the USA's Southernmost city of Key West.  Therefore it is not really an option to use Mickey's Tree House to visit the Keys.  However why not plan a 2 or 3 centre holiday.  7-10 days  in Mickey's Tree House, 3-7 days on the West Coast or in Miami and the Everglades and 7 days in the Keys.

For accommodation in the Keys let me suggest that you log on to http://www.vrbo.com.  Type in Marathon (a Key about half way along) in the city search box and the private villas will be listed.  Scroll up or down and there are villas on other Keys and towns along the way.

Click the Key Map link to download a map of the Florida Keys.

Virgin will let you fly into Orlando and out of Miami so no need to drive back all the way to Orlando.  You can drop off your rental car at Miami airport for a small surcharge.

We visited the Keys a couple of years ago.  It is fabulous for anything associated with water sports.  We stayed in Key West and to watch the sun setting from Mallory Square is a must.  It is called the "Sunset Celebration".  Not only will visitors see a spectacular sunset, they will be entertained by the various carnival performers and vendors.

The acts include a fire-eating family, Silver Man, jugglers, a Houdini wannable who escapes from a prison of chains, and more.  An Act not to be missed is Dominick and his cats, performing nightly on the Hilton pier (adjacent to Mallory Square
